If you look closely you'll see what appears to be saw marks repeating
themselves every half inch or so on picture number four. This could be
the start of, or a portion of the grabbing action of a saw blade.


An indication that the piece was ripped, yes; and quite typical of the
misalignment often found on a contractor saw or w/ long pieces that are
flexible. What I'd be looking for is the actual location where it got
grabbed and flung if it did--there would almost certainly be a good
gouge at that specific location, not just the tooth marks this picture
shows.
