A lot of folks who run Windoze like Forte Agent (payware).
Gravity (free, open source) also has a lot of fans.

It appears you are using an older version of Mozilla Suite.
To get maximum usability out of the suite
(including the updates WRT reading groups),
you could upgrade to SeaMonkey and continue using familiar software.

You will also need a provider. Many ISPs' Usenet access sucks.
