I laid my Sporty down in 2005 when someone pulled out in front of me.
Having plenty of dirt bike racing experience instinct said lay it down
and don't t-bone the car and do an Evil Kenevel over it. I ended up
with 11 stitches in the back of my head, bruised ribs and a bit of
elbow road rash. Cost the offender's insurance 2000 to fix the Sporty
and 12,500 to fix me (actually got 8000 cash and went to FL on a two
week vacation for free.

Good job, on escaping death. Cool that you got some money for your pain. I
know that if I ever get hurt like that again, somebody is writing me a big
check. I considered this one mostly my fault, but given the road conditions
and the current state of the legal system, I probably could have sued the
city for it (intersection lighting out for months, median protruding way out
needlessly and not painted or marked, actually had been run over by so many
cars and trucks that the end of it was black from tire marks). Of course I
should have had the right glasses on too, but hey **** happens and the cop
never noticed that at all. I just thank God that drunks didn't run me over
when I was laying in the road unconscious. Stupid wrecker drivers thought I
was dead and didn't even try to help. They just tried to steal my watch
when it flew off. Dodged all those morons in cars/trucks/vans/busses/etc...
for all those years and then run over the end of a median at night and
almost take myself out.

Mine happened at 9:AM on the way to a meeting with my son's school. Chick
pulled out of a side street to the east with the sun in her eyes. She
didn't see me. I had no malice towards her, never even talked to her. I
could have easily been badly hurt or worse had I not acted instantly after
I realized I couldn't brake. I hit the back brake, turned the front
wheel, let the back of the bike come around then and laid down for the
most part on top of the bike as it skid. That's the reason I had little
road rash. I was in jeans and tshirt BTW. Did bang the back of my head
hard which knocked me out and caused a big gash. Luckily there was no
fracture and just a mild concussion. I had maybe 3 seconds to make my
choice as to what was the best way out and I was doing the speed limit of
35.

Yet another twit with too many Gs to the skull.
