On a similar tack, is the looting we heard
about on the news a new phenomenon? I don't remember it in previous
disasters.

Someone nicked couple of sandbags and the Barsley Chrinicle went
into a frenzy about looting. Only confirmed report is of an
abandoned car having it's stereo pinched.

There certainly has been looting in this area!

Which area?

Within 3hrs of one elderly couple being evacuated from their
Bungalow they had been burgled & all their electrical equipment
stolen.

Is one burgulary a looting?

Adam

That was only one example from several of which I've been told about!

There are also several instances where items which have been removed from
inside peoples properties ready to be assessed by the various loss
adjusters & left in gardens, have then mysteriously disappeared during the
night.

The area I'm talking about? Well that's the now famous 'forgotten City'.

I know where you mean. The flooding in Hull was missed out of the news for
some reason. More houses were flooded in Hull than in all of South Yorkshire
put together and no Prince Charles turning up to "help". Forgotten it was.
You have my sympathies.
