Default Do ALL chains say "do not use for lifting"

Is this a case of lawyers being in charge of chain-making or is there actually different chain that
is approved for lifting and all the stuff at H.D., Lowes, Ace is made for something else... what I
don't know.

Any suggestions? :-)

Proof chain is made of heat treated alloy steel its got higher tensile
strength and it costs more than the stuff you were looking at.
The cheap stuff is great for holding a tailgate or tying rover and has
about the same steel as a coat hanger or a nail.
