So why should you care? If you are getting estimates as you should and
getting the lowest possible price for the job, why should you care how the
contractor makes his money or how much he makes? If you do your part of the
job, finding a good contractor and having him compete for the job how is
that more or less fair that what the grocery market charges or a doctor or
any other service or product you buy.

I guess using your logic GM should lower the price of their cars if the
price of steel drops.
