He's using some kind of killfile as mentioned in his letter. Does he
filter the OT posts and then read them anyway?

If you use Netscape as your NG reader, the "K" key marks the thread to
be ignored. It's like killing the thread, with one keystroke. Also,
setting a message filter to ignore "OT" posts will catch a lot. RCM'ers
do mark some of their OT posts.
