Default OT. keg law in NY is screwing the wrong people.

To add a bit of metalworking, I too have been pondering buying a
corney... because I'd rather not be bottling, the corney is cheap
enough, a 5lb bottle will last a LONG time, the bottle and regulator are
a bit pricy for what I have to spend, I DO have a couple large paintball
tanks though. Has anyone made an adapter(out of metal of course!),
that adapts a paintball tank to the regulator? I have made an adapter
that fits the paintball tank, what is the thread of a regular bottle and
regulator?

Looks like a stupid law, all right. In the event that you don't succeed
in getting it overturned, you could buy a few Cornelius kegs from Brewer's
Discount, http://www.rcbequip.com/, transfer your beer into them, then
return the commercial keg. Homebrewers use these all the time. They should
work fine with your existing regulator and CO2 bottle but you may need
some fittings to attach to the Corny keg (they have those, too... they're
cheap). You can fit several Corny kegs into a refrigerator, too, so you
could potentially have several beers on tap.

Heck, you might even want to investigate doing some homebrewing yourself.
It's easy and fun. rec.crafts.brewing is the place for more info. That'd
probably also be a good place to recruit people to oppose the law.

(no connection with Brewer's Discount, other than as a satsified customer)
