Default Wiring a ceiling fan with light

Ours are still going strong after about 15 years. The one in the
bedroom runs pretty much non-stop (at low speed) from evening through
morning all summer.

They had a mind of their own during electrical storms.


One of the fans would turn itself on when main power was lost and
then restored, but replacing the wall control fixed that. I'll admit
that it was creepy to wake up in the middle of the night with the
ceiling fan running full speed.
