It's probable that Sears holds the manufacturer dujur to a
higher level of quality for they're Kenmore label.

Interesting... Kenmore is a 'house brand label' so the appliance could
have been made by any number of manufacturers, including Whirlpool,
Hotpoint (GE), Gibson...
