Default overzealous when scraping off popcorn ceiling

You probably need to skimcoat the entire ceiling. This is an art by
itself, but the average handy person can learn it. There's a little

Skimcoat, sand, texture, prime, paint. We just did this in our living
room after removing popcorn ceiling. Looks great.
