That's exactly what I was looking for - in addition to George's comment
about it not mattering too much for wood. Seems I've seen some company -
Fuller, maybe? - that offers a 90 degree point...?

Tips fer Turnin': Place a sign, easily seen as you switch on your lathe, warning you to remove any and all rings from your fingers. Besides, rings can easily mar the surface of a turning as you check for finished smoothness.
