Default OT Water dispensor not working (refrigerator)

Thats exactly what my side by side does, leak all over the floor when
filling a glass. Checking out a price of a new part (just need the
little plastic piece that serves as the spout, which is perhaps 1/4"
diam by about 3 inches long bent in the shape of a "J") sort of took
me by surprise..$55.00 for just that small piece. Needless to say I
left it at the repair parts house, and fashioned my own.

Its unreal how cheap they make things today and then charge such high
prices for the replacement parts.

x-Yep, the water comes in through a hollow hinge pin. I wish mine could be
x-fixed by just flipping a switch. The little tube connection on the bottom
x-of the hinge is broken off, so the rubber hose is lying on the floor. When
x-you press a glass against the lever, that operates a solenoid valve
x-somewhere, and runs water on the floor.

x-Oh, well, I never thought ice water in the door was that useful anyway.
