Much has been said about President Bush's mistakes in the invasion of
Iraq, not the least of which has been the inability to locate Saddam's
huge cache of WMDs.

But another accusation that has been made is that Bush mounted this
invasion without bothering to have an exit strategy.

Well, nothing could be further from the truth.

Bush had a definite exit strategy, one that he, himself, devised and
ordered.

As our troops were entering Iraq, the commanding officers were told
that each company should designate one man to paint a mark on each
tree so that they could find the exit.
