Default I have a friend who .............

I have friends who are into various trades, crafts, hobbies, etc. that could
make great contributions to this and other groups. The thing is most are
older; or back-to-the-landers; a little off center politically /
philosophically; etc., that for one reason or the other won't / don't own
computers and wouldn't touch one if you gave them one. The ones that do
have'em usually just do email with family.

One of them has a few useful although [not-commercially successful]
inventions to his name. He has a an old 80386 computer that he runs Linux on
but he won't use the da_ _ thing for anything except keeping his records on
and an old Cad program. He's been using it for years, even taking some CAD
classes at the nearby University, but refuses to hook it to the internet.

Out here in the boonies, many of these guys could give the Mel Gibson
character in "Conspiracy Theory" a good run for their money, as far as
mistrust of the internet and the government goes.

One of my "buds" has a pool going on his shop wall about when Bush/Cheney is
going to declare martial law and purposely tank the economy so they can set
up their one world government with the other Bilderberger Group-ers.

I just put an extra layer of tin foil inside of my Manitowoc hat when I go
down there. I don't want any of those stray alien rays to penetrate while
I'm that close to them.

FWIW,

HAT

Some people will tell you that slow is good...and it may be, on some
days...but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I've always believed
this, in spite of the trouble it's caused me. Being shot out of a cannon
will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God
made fast motorcycles, Bubba...."
