removing metal "plugs" in solvent cans
Is there some farmer's trick to remove those "cut this out" metal plugs
that's pressed into steel solvent cans for shipping WITHOUT deforming the rest of the lip of the can? I normally just stab with a flat screwdriver, but any attempt to pry the thing out usually leaves a dent in the to top of the can. Stuff like acrylic cement dries up real fast even with the cap screwed on good. |

Well, _this_ farmer generally has good luck with something small like an ice pick or the like against the outer edge that will crimp the seal inward enough to twist with needlenose pliers... -- |

I just drive the tip of ny needle-nosed pliers through the plug, then grab wgat is left with the plkiers in the whole, and twist. Have never damaged a neck. |
