Looking for suggestions / thoughts on final finish for exterior
doors that will be exposed to a wide range of temperatures & weather
conditions. Installing fiberglass (rather than solid wood or steel),
these can be stained / treated same as wood. Do I just stain or add a
protectant thereafter?

They usually have a label on the door that talks about finishes. Stain
and varnish if you like.
