MOST vacuums are dc brush type motors so a "dimmer switch" would control the speed - but you would need a "heavy duty" one because MOST are only good for 600 watts, and the vacuum power does not decrease linearly with speed (or sound output). In other words the vac will suck a lot less for a smaller decrease in noise output. |
