................................................. ...................

A busload of politicians were driving down a country road when
all of a sudden, the bus ran off the road and crashed into a
tree in an old farmer's field.

The old farmer, after seeing what had happened, went over to
investigate. He then proceeded to dig a hole to bury the politicians.

A few days later the local sheriff came out, saw the crashed bus, and
asked the old farmer where all the politicians had gone.

The old farmer said he had buried them.

The sheriff asked the old farmer, "Were they all dead?"

The old farmer replied, "Well, some of them said they weren't, but you
know how them *******s lie."

More than likely "upstate" Illinois. Chicago (upstate) is more apt to be
corrupt than "downstate" Illinois..as the rest of the state is called.

Yeah, but he's a Chicago Machine politician. It is the
Metro-Chicago contribution to political ooze (Daley, Blago,
Ryan, Obama ...) that gives the state a bad name.

Nah; All Illinois state politicians live in the Chicago area. They just
work in Springfield and only then when they can't get out of it.

In all my years covering Chicago, never found a farm.

Now Peoria, Springfield, Bloomington/Normal and points south is
another matter.

No mention of where the politicians practiced, only where the met
their demise.

Apparently that was one of the contributing causes of the latest bit of
corruption. He didn't like the pay in Springfield and was looking for a
better gig.

Our present governor and wife, refused to reside in the Mansion in
Springfield which is mid state. They elected to remain in Chicago.
Which is good he probably good as they would have sold all the
furniture on Ebay.

Spoken by someone who either doesn't live in Illinois or doesn't pay
attention. Blago probably couldn't find Springfield on a map. The joke in
the state is how little time he spent in the actual governor's mansion, or
in Springfield. He spent most of his time in his Chicago office and his
north side home.

You mean the governer's residence in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the north
side of Chicago?
