Default Da Phils Won

I was born in 1950 - the year of the Wiz Kids.

I turned thirty in 1980, the last time that good thing happened.

I'm fifty eight this year and they did it for real, again.

It was better when I was younger.

Could never out the "Whiz Kids" label when it was Robin Roberts'
fabulous year that held them together.

He was something else that year.

Don't feel bad, the Indians haven't won since 1948.

Can still name every player who was a starter as well as some of the
back-ups on that 1948 team.

Team included Larry Doby in center, the first black man to crack the
color barrier in the American league.

Bill Veeck knew how to fill the seats and how to make a fashion
statement by NOT wearing a tie.

Chicago would come later.

Almost all are gone.
