Default S.F. Bay Area Woodworking classes

Don't miss your chance to sign up for the fall semester woodworking classes
at the Pleasant Hill Adult Center. Classes start during the week of
September 8th. During the summer we've spruced up the shop. Come try out the
brand new Powermatic 22" planer or try out our two newly rebuilt Delta
Unisaws. Most classes are three hours and last 14 week. Almost ALL the
classes are under $100. Call 925-685-7340 if you have questions. All classes
are at the Pleasant Hill Adult Center - One Santa Barbara Road, Pleasant
Hill, CA 94523

Wood Turning Project - Jim Rodgers - Thursday Afternoons

Continue to advance your woodturning skills and build confidence while
producing item's from the instructor's project list. Class will include
lecture, group discussion and project critique. This course is for the
intermediate wood turner who has completed Woodturning - Introduction or
equivalent.



Clock Cases - Jeff Traeger - Tuesday Afternoons

Build a classic clock for your home. Two new projects [an Eli Terry mantle
clock and a modern veneer face wall clock] to choose from PLUS the classic
Regulator school house clock, a Shaker wall clock and an early American
grandfather clock. Detailed plans and sources for clock parts provided.
Students will supply the wood and the works.



Craft Fair Projects - Gordon Fry - Monday Mornings - FREE CLASS

A no fee class! Build a pair of projects - one for you and one for the
Craft Fair. Proceeds benefit the woodworking program. Plans will be
available for a wide variety of projects including cutting boards, trays,
knife holders, boxes and more. Gordon Fry volunteered to head the Craft Fair
and he need everyone's help.



Band saw/Scroll saw Techniques - Dave Greenhill - Tuesday Evenings

For anyone with little or no woodworking safety training and skills.
Includes pattern on wood, project layout, multiple cutouts, 3-D cutting,
decorative edging and safe use of band saws and scroll saws.



Woodworking I & II - Bill Martin - Monday and Thursday Afternoon

A fast track way to complete the basic Woodworking I & II courses in just
one semester. Class will include the prerequisites required to take more
advanced woodworking courses. You may not nee this course - but tell your
spouse, your friends and neighbors about this course so they can get in on
the woodworking fun.



Router Fundamentals - Ed Steffinger - Wednesday Evenings

Learn more about selection, safe use and care of standard and plunge routers
[hand held and table mounted]. Work on several small router accessories and
two instructor selected projects. Questions: phone the instructor at
925-798-5245. No class on 9/17.



Master Series - Projects - Brian Condran - Tuesday Mornings

Guest lecturer Brian Condran will guide students through construction of a
Krenov-style project, using the skills acquired in Master Series Tools and
Techniques. Brian is a graduate of the master woodworking program at the
College of the Redwoods.
