Copper Sinks Are Hot!
Copper Sinks Are Hot!:
http://syubrawi.com/copper-kitchen-sinks, Move over stainless steel and porcelain - copper is back and it’s taking the kitchen & bath world by storm! “Old World” materials have been gaining momentum for some time now. The use of natural stone, wood and copper is replacing the “sterile” look of stainless steel and porcelain – the standard in plumbing showrooms for years. What does copper have that stainless steel doesn’t? One reason is its “living finish” that can be purchased in many different patinas. The darker patinas are a perfect compliment to oil rubbed bronze hardware and the natural stones such as granite that are becoming standard in today’s designs. Another appeal of copper is its “living finish” that evolves and changes. This quality exudes a “lived in” look that seems to be a part of the current design trend. A living finish is simply an oxidation process that darkens the metal over time much like the way a penny evolves as it gets older. In fact, most copper sinks sold today already have a “weathered copper” or darker finish due to the maintenance required to keep a copper shiny. These darker finishes require very little maintenance – just mild soap and water. As a 20 year veteran of the plumbing industry, I have seen a lot of trends. Today, homeowners seem drawn to unique products in their kitchen and bath. This trend also includes an increase in the popularity of natural stone and even wood sinks. Homeowners are using the sink is a focal point in their design project and they don’t want to see the same sink in their neighbors house. Besides being functional works of art in their own right, copper has some very practical qualities. Most copper sinks sold today are “hand hammered”. This technique in combination with the natural living finish quickly hides any scratches or dents that might occur with regular use. Copper is a naturally hygienic metal and germs such as E- coli cannot survive longer than a few hours on it’s surface. The rise in sales of copper sinks has helped bring the costs down. It has also created a vast array of choices which is welcomed by the homeowners looking to install a unique design that reflects their own personal sense of décor. I use a text based newsreader on a unix shell session. In the original
spam posting, a lot of the non-plain-text formatting that was used (maybe for underlining or italics?) results in the word or phrase being shown in my news reader with a prefix of "^S" and a suffix of "^T". That's why I spelled it that way, I did not mean to comment on anythin but the original spam post. -- Often wrong, never in doubt. Hi again Doug, You are certainly entitled to ask that I not reply to spam. That is perfectly reasonable. In addition, you are absolutely correct when you say that I "still don't get it." That failure may well be due to some limitation on my part, but there is also the possibility that you have not communicated well. There's a communication problem here, all right, but in addition to your other misunderstandings, you fail to understand which end of the channel the problem is on. Either way, I do not understand why, if you filter by header, seeing my post causes you to see the spam message that you are trying to avoid. I already told you exactly why that is. (Note comment above, regarding which end of the communication channel has the problem.) Here's the explanation for the second time: Because my filter drops nearly everything that was posted through GoogleGroups, with the exception of about a dozen people whose posts I've explicitly decided I want to see. The original spam came through Google. Your reposting of it didn't. I also do not understand why you have expressed this objection to me, but not to the other two folks who have commented on the original spam message (one of whom quoted it in its entirety.) That's because you aren't reading very carefully. (Note comment above, regarding which end of the communication channel has the problem.) I *have* expressed the same objection to Larry. I haven't seen anyone reposting the spam in its entirety, possibly because my filters dropped that too. If you care to explain any or all of that to me, I would be appreciative. I have already explained it. More than once. Copper+Sink SPAM flame nonsense
Hi Kenneth,
You sound like an ordinary, non-programmer type of guy (not a full time Geek). If so, you probably need to communicate in Standard English... not *Geek-ese* or tirades of snotty, un-helpful BS. I looked at the "Properties and Details" of your posting. Are you using Forte Agent 3.3/32.846 to read this newsgroup? If so, Agent 4.2 ( approx $29) and upgrades are available for about $20. http://www.forteinc.com/agent/support.php Within Forte, there may be filters that can help you by using carefully chosen keywords, and by adding bad email domainssources to a list so Forte Agent will block out offending SPAMs. If you are using Outlook Express (OE), a "good egg" in this group called Swingman gave a constuctive suggestion. The same principles of blocking may apply in a general way to Forte Agent: ------------ With OE the following two "News" rules catch 99.9% of it for me: Got to TOOLS/MESSAGE RULES/NEWS on the menu bar and create two rules Apply this rule after the message arrives Where the From line contains 'watches' or '.cn' or 'china' or 'googlemail.com' or 'watchec.com' or 'chinese' or 'cheap' or 'sina.com' Delete it Apply this rule after the message arrives Where the Subject line contains 'Fake' or 'watches' or 'shoes' or 'china' or 'tiffany' or 'cartier' or 'rolex' or 'POLO' or 'wholesale' or '****' or 'boobs' or 'penis' or 'viagra' or 'watch' or 'jeans' or 'sneaker' Delete it ----------- About snotty responses... ignore them... even KILLFILE (block) those people. People like that are not going to help you work with wood or fight SPAM. Snotty posters don't know/care who the real enemy is. Don't waste time or electons by arguing with them or asking for help from them. They won't give it. Axel |

Frank Arthur is the "charter member" of that section, but it looks like he may not be alone much longer. Larry Wasserman gets a pass, though.
