Default . Prepare your Items

.. Prepare your Items

You will want to make the best impression possible at your meeting to
ensure that you get the best price possible per item. Some clothing
will need ironing, washing or minor repairs before they are ready to
present. Fold the items neatly or hang them on hangers when you bring
them into the store. If you find items that are not in great
condition, set them aside to donate to a charity.

When you are meeting with the consignment shop, negotiate for the best
commission rate and the best possible price per item. Before leaving
your items, make sure that you fully understand the sales process, the
tracking of your items and the payment process.

Consider donating the items that are not accepted at the consignment
shop to a local charity of your choice. Selling your better quality
clothing at a consignment shop is a great option to generate some
additional income to replace items, buy clothing for your kids and
downsize the unused clothes that are in yours or your family's closets.
