Oak Logs - Near Sacramento CA
I have a friend who took down a large oak tree in his back yard
recently. The small branches have been disposed of, and most of the branches & stuff have been cut into firewood, but there are three large logs left, each approximately 12 feet long. I don't know what species yet, but I'm guessing it's Blue Oak, which is the prevalent species around here. Is there a market for these logs? Is the wood useful? --Steve |

Native Americans made meal from blue oak acorns, and used the acorn leachate for dying baskets. The wood was used to make bowls." -- Frank Howell |
