"Through Dovetail Jig Cheat Sheet - Need Beta Testers"
Cutting through dovetails on router based dovetail jigs requires
that YOU orient the parts correctly and manipulate them properly between cuts in order to end up with - parts that ALL fit together correctly - with all four "outside/show" faces actually facing outside For that to happen YOU have to beat the 1 in 4 (or worse) odds of guessing right. One chance of guessing right, at least four chances of guessing WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! So - I've put together a one page Cheat Sheet for one method / procedure for getting the parts cut right and now need some other eyes to check it out for accuracy and understandability. If you've got, and have used, a LEIGH or PC OmniJig for through dovetails please have a look and let me know if this Cheat Sheet covers the parts orientation and manipultation well enough for it to be useful to jig owners/users. My intent is for the final Cheat Sheet to be downloadable and then printed off line to keep with the jig. It should fit on a single 8 1/2 x 11 page. http://web.hypersurf.com/~charlie2/A...hySummary.html Comments, suggestions, constructive criticism would be much appreciated. And if you're a glutton for punishment you can click back the previous page that gets into the details of the What, How and WHY. Thanks charlie b |
