Default Looking for jig

looking for a drawing, for a jig to cut compound tappered slates, I need
it only once so don't want to buy a manufactored one from a tool
store,similiar to a wooden pail,this is for a 2' high drum

They're called staves, not slates, which might be hindering your
search. You might want to look at using a birdsmouth router bit.

At the bottom of that page click on the "Instr" link (why they couldn't
spell out instructions, I'll never know) and at the bottom of the
window that opens up there's information on building conical shapes
using the bit.

Default Looking for jig

From what I remember reading, it is possible to make the Birdsmouth
joint on a TS, but you get 2 points for accuracy. I made a couple of
columns with a Birdsmouth bit and it is a very simple process.

I think Wood Magazine also did an article on it.

Try your library or bookstores for these books which cover coopering:

Circular Work In Carpentry
The Woodwright's Eclectic Workshop
Coopers and Coopering
Colonial Williamsburg: The Cooper's Craft (VHS tape)
Barrel Making (an art in the service of wine)
etc.

P.S: Terminology/spelling are "tapered" and "staves", respectively.

Default Looking for jig

Why not us a shopbuilt tapering jig and tilt the table saw blade?
