Thank You
Thank you to all of you who have posted information, answered
questions, offered advice and assisted in finding products and supplies. I have used this site more than any other to date. We recently completed my second workshop after moving into our new home. We learned from all the mistakes building the first. We also sold or gave away old equipment before moving, and we are equipping the new shop with used equipment, as we locate it, or new if the quality is good and price not prohibitive. When we have comments or information that will benefit others, we will contribute. As a retired military officer, we are so glad to be settled for life with the opportunity to pursue a hobby that started years ago but interrupted by moves and deployments. Please remember our service men and women who will not be home for Christmas. After spending Christmas twice on foreign soil, we know it will be one of the most difficult times for them. God Bless them and the United States of America. Thanks. |

Bill, Don't know if I've answered any of your posts in the past or not but glad to hear you made it to retirement and are finally "home" wherever that may be. Like yourself, I'm retired (USAF) and roamed the world for a lot of those years. Finally retired out in '85 and started another career - and still working. Two houses later, I finally was able to make a dedicated shop. Not big (12x20) but all mine and I've jammed all the toys into it I could. The drum sander and a small DC for it and my lathe had to go in the garage though....;-) I'm sure a lot of woodworkers here have spent many holidays away from home and on foreign soil so they are especially meaningful now when all the family gathers to celebrate. Enjoy your retirement and your new shop and we certainly do remember those carrying on the work we once were doing, a different time, different place. Bob S. |
