A builder was erecting a new house. One day when the framing started
going up a sweet little girl about five years old went onto the site to
see what was going on. Her cute personality and bright manner
captivated all of the workmen and they let her hang around watching
them.

The little girl's mother saw this and worried that a building site
wasn't a proper environment for her daughter, but when she went to get
her the foreman assured her that they were looking out for the little
girl's safety and would make certain nothing happened to her. Her
mother felt better and let her stay there.

The little girl started doing small things and errands for the workmen
and, at the end of the day, they all chipped in and gave her $10 for
being such a "wonderful assistant".

She skipped home and showed her mother the windfall, and Mom said, "I'm
glad you had such a good time, dear and you didn't come to any harm.
Are you going to go back there tomorrow?" The little girl replied, "It
all depends if those useless jerkoffs from Lowe's make the delivery
they've been promising for two weeks."
