A lot (well, at least *some*...) of us use the free newsreader program
Xnews. This is a really nice program. It allows one to use multiple news
servers, allows the user to obfuscare his/her identity, and allows easy
retreival of split posts in a binary news group. Another thing it does
well is filter posts in newsgroups. This is done by editing a text file
called "score.ini" (this is seperate from the "kill file"). Filtering
attributes can be set globally or for each newsgroup. I thought I would
share my current score file. The filter elements get added to as spammers
hit us with different forms of delight, but the file is very easy to update
with a simple text editor.
