Treatment of Bermudian Cedar wood
OK, I promise a photo when it's finished, but for
now I'm restoring a commemorative plaque given to a family member some years ago in Bermuda, which is made of the now scarce local Bermudian Cedar. It would maybe have had some form of oiled finish at one time. This has now gone and wood which has been exposed to light is now clean and as if never treated. (There is some sort of oil residue left under what were covered areas. Would anyone care to give guidance on what are suitable treatments for cedar, particularly one which might still allow the wonderful smell of the wood to remain noticeable. Suggestions appreciated, Clive Sherriff ================================== |
