Default How to apply finishes

Can anyone point me to a good site on how to apply finishes to turned
pieces. When I started, I used the friction polish stuff as it hit a lot of
errors. Now that I am getting better I have Danish oil and lemon oil in my
collection, but I have no idea of how much or roughly how long you should
use them on the piece you have done. For example a four inch diameter bowl.
