Oklahoma Turners?

I am retiring from the Navy in September and want to reach any western Ok
turners in the area of Sayre Ok. Only 1 in AAW guide email has bounced.
Any 1 even remotely close to western Ok between Amarillo and OKC give me a
yell please. I need a new turning group!!!!!

Navy and moving to OK? Reminds me of the old story about the veteran
salt who was about to leave the sea and he was loading up his pack and
a couple of oars before starting on his trek to a new home. One of his
shipmates asked him why he had the oars and he replied, "I'm going to
walk inland until someone asks me what these are, and I figure that'll
be far enough from the sea for me to settle down."

Anything like that in your choice?

If you can't figure out how to use it, I probably wouldn't
care to correspond with you anyway.

Have you posted your question to the forums on the AAW site?

Tips fer Turnin': Place a sign, easily seen as you switch on your lathe, warning you to remove any and all rings from your fingers. Called degloving, extended hardware can grab your ring and rip it off your finger. A pic for the strong of stomach: www.itim.nsw.gov.au/go/objectid/2A3AC703-1321-1C29-70B067DC88E16BFC/index.cfm

Besides, rings can easily mar the surface of a turning as you check for finished smoothness.
