floor joists resting on?
Hi,
in an earlier thread, Bob Mannix added: "the new (much bigger) joists (assuming they can span in one and no steel is required) are usually laid next to the existing joists on pads on the wall plate, which lifts their lower edge away from the ceiling. You therefore get a new, strong floor which is decoupled from the ceiling below. " Mys question is - what do I use for the pads that the joists rest on? It needs to be 14mm. cheers philip |
