Default Anyone know where I can order a T5 ballast?

Anyone know where I can order a T5 ballast? to run a single 54w T5 tube.

Best I can find is "Watford Aquarium" who want £25.84 for a Osram
Quicktronic Ballasts. I am sure this should be cheaper if it wasnt an
aqurium supplier - yet the local suppliers I have asked all do not stock T5
fitting?

Any online suggestions?

Goto your local electrical wholsaler. If they don't supply them, just get a
whole fitting and remove the parts you don't need. The last time I looked a
5ft single fitting was somewhere around £9 exc vat.

I bought a 35W one recently from either Farnell or RS (can't recall
which -- I bought several different ballasts from both of them).

I would like to identify a better supplier of ballasts. I often find
one I want in manufacturer's data sheets, but then can't find anyone
to supply it.

BTW, I have found electrical wholesalers very expensive for electronic
ballasts, they don't keep them in stock, and you get no clue what type
(instant start, preheat, etc) you will get if they order you one.

Assuming you're in the Watford area, try Polar electrical

Buying from specialist shops (even if I know the owner) is normally not
a cheap option
