Default Pine bedstead: durability and stability

I'm thinking of buying a self-assembly pine bedstead from IKEA/MFI or
one of the other "sheds".

Any comments about the stability of such self-assembly bedsteads? Do
the joints loosen and the base start to wobble after a few months?
Thanks
Bruce

Yes the joints will work a little lose on the corners, but that not a great
problem as they not glued joints but bolted. You bolt them up when you get
home and you may find yourself tightening them up once in a while, twice a
year at the most.
However I would say that these beds (having had 1 or 2 for the children) are
made from a wood akin to a digestive biscuit. The last ones that we bought,
about a year ago when we moved house, the lad managed to break 1 of the
slats in the first day or 2. I have replaced 4 slats on this 1 all told, not
his fault!! if there is a knot in the wood along the slat it just a matter
of time. I have made our own double from wood and to date it had no problems
and neither have any of the replaced slats in the children's. Suppose it
depends what price point you buying at in the first place.

Suppose it also depends on the "dynamic" stress loads you are
applying)

Not if you apply Resin W during assembly.

Lets be blunt, here, Tony. Would a double pine bedstead withstand an
enthusiastic shagging session between Jordan and Peter Andre, for
example?

Only way is to set it up in a laboratory and do the measurements)

Surely someone in this NG has had an extended lurve session on a pine
bedstead and would care to share their findings sa to the stability of
the bedstead under dynamic loading.
