There was a very sad case on the "consumer " program of our local BBC
station, 3CR, last week of a forklift driver who worked for them for
seven years. He came into work one morning and was told he was redundant
and to go home. He was not paid wages owed or redundancy and was looking
at major cash flow problems with standing bills coming in. The company
had repeatedly promised "cheques in the post" but had failed to deliver
either cheques or a genuine explanation, until it actually went into
liquidation. As you say " don't touch them" if they treat their
employees that way how will they treat their customers??

More than 150 windows are to be replaced at the new Scottish Parliament
building. Presiding Office George Reid said they were being replaced due to
a technical fault. All 154 windows will be removed, fixed, and reinstated at
no additional cost as the original contractor has accepted full
responsibility for the problem. Mr Reid said the window fault, which
happened during manufacture, related to the silicon bonding on the glass.
