Default Laying asphalt roofing roll

Hi there

I have a flat roof and was given four rolls of roofing asphalt rool.
The type that has to be laid with the assistance of a blow torch,
which is where my problems start.
Do I roll out the roll entirely and then heat it from the underside
and let it drop (the 2 or 3 inches) on to the roof, or do I use the
blow torch from above and gently heat the roll.

All advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

When I did mine I heated the roll as I unrolled it, this way I only had to heat a small bit at a time .......

Its VERY easy to melt the stuff, and its even easier to not get it hot enough.

I would recommend a dry day.

Apply lame to underside which normally has a plastic protective film
that burns off.
Suggest u hire special roof felt roller [to unroll and keep
at safe distance from flame] and gas gun.
Have fire extinguisher handy.
