Default Cant get the door handles off:(

Got a kitchen fire door quite solid, got a couple of handles like these
ones and a latch been working fine except its not now

Managed to open by turning the handles up and down to get the sod
unlocked but there is a single hex head grub screw in each handle, took
the screw out on both sides handles wont come off the door shaft that
goes from one side of the door to the other no other visible fixings
anyone know how its done other than with an Angle grinder?.

Cheers..

you have to use a thin bladed screwdriver to lever off the rectangular
plate. There will be a fixing plate under that that will have screws
into the door......

+1. The cover plate will lever off with a thin blade under the edge. Youll
find the fixing screws underneath.

The first comment on that site talks about a plastic washer and an
undersized hole. Maybe the washer on the handle is getting trapped
behind the cover?
