Not really being following but AIUI unlawful means not authorized by
law, where as illegal means forbidden by law.

Unlawful means more that it is against the precepts that law is based upon.


So strictly speaking Boris isn't compelled to do anything with regard to
this ruling.

It implies that he wrongly advised the Queen. That means he should now
resign as PM.

Presumably MPs, if the had any backbone, could unilaterally reopen

Perhaps that is what constitutes the "lie" people keep claiming. Maybe he
never spoke to her at all.

It would be more accurate to say what was done but is now as if it had
not been done.
