When we leave the EU we could abolish VAT altogether, but we probably
won't because the govt would need to make a new tax in its place.

Not until the EU allows us to i.e. when we get out of the backstop.
But if there is VAT on pianos then European ones should be cheaper as
it'll be an exempt export out of the EU.
