Default Any snooker/pool fans around?

Looking for a rest for the above - cross and spider - nothing fancy.

Plenty to choose from, e.g.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pool-Snoo...e/252322074210,
but I cannot find a "stick" to go with them.

Am I missing a trick? I have a couple of cues that I don't need. Can I
use them for the job? How would they attach to each other?

Sorry if answer is obvious - I am happy to admit total ignorance.

The sticks come in different lengths so you have to buy them separately.
No idea how they attach. I've never needed to attach one.

No sticks on eBay due to impossible postage?

Epoxy casting onto end of WHY? Minor whittling possibly required...

I am happy to sacrifice one the the spare cues - length should be fine.

Problem I have is that it looks as if the spider/cross need to be
screwed to the stick (see photos above), and I don't thing a plain cue,
even without a tip will allow that.

So you'll either cut the cue tight & screw it in, glue it in or measure the thread and find out how to cut a matching thread. What exactly is the problem?

Do your spare cues have screw-on brass ends? I'm guessing the rests
would have the same thread.

Cheers

I have no idea - sorry, I am a total ignorant when it comes to these
things...

This is what the tip of the cue looks like:
http://tinypic.com/r/not6df/9

I was expecting to be able to find sticks/shafts with a thread at the
top quite easily, but couldn't find any, hence the original question.

I suppose I can always carefully work the top of the cue with a rasp to
slightly larger than the size required and force it to screw into the
rest/bridge.

The brass ferrule will probably unscrew from the cue, it'll be very
tight. It might just be forced on.

from the few I've seen disassembled, brass tips screw on. Plastic ones OTOH push on.

Why don't you ask somebody who might know, such as a Sports
supplier - Billiard, snooker and pool players still need to
buy chalk, replacement tips and cues and they have to get them
from somewhere!

Or try a web search. Here's the first one I found:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/57-BRIDGE-REST-
STICK/dp/B007KIZCPI/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1542307602&sr=8-6
&keywords=snooker+rests+and+spiders

Thanks, I saw these - this is the only hit I got when I searched. Reason
I didn't proceed with them was because they didn't have a thread, whilst
the rest does, so I thought that they were incompatible.
