Erm yes, possibly possibly, However the bit joining the heel to the sole
has also to be pretty tough to avoid twisting. Are you having those naughty fantasies again? Must take your medication! Incidentally when that Film 'The Core' came out they used a wonderfully named material that should be ideal for the purpose you envisage. Unobtainium. No, no super tough material in them, heels of 2" and higher had a steel rod inserted for the thin part of the heel, it didnt go all the way to the top, the plastic was just normal thermosetting hot injected plastic. |

Remembering early commercial plastics from the 1950's, I'm still amazed sometimes at the strength and toughness of simple modern thermoplastics; the handles of lead acid batteries particularly come to mind. |
