![]() I've not been feeling too good and for a few days I've vegetated in front of the TV watching mainly daytime crap. There are a number of American reality shows concerning pawn shops, abandoned storage lock-up auctions, pickers (antique dealers cold calling to cherry pick the more valuable items), the transport of items across country by the lowest bidder and the restoration of American junk to make an antique look new. What has been noticeable is that the SAME very rare and valuable items have turned up on more than one of these programs, either found in a locker full of worthless junk or supposedly owned by someone claiming ownership for 10s of years. For one of these items there were at least 2, and maybe 3, different people claiming long term ownership. Furthermore, the people/dealers featured in these programs all seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of these rare object on first seeing them. -- mailto : news {at} admac {dot} myzen {dot} co {dot} uk |
