Yeah, remember those but the proper jet tool would be better. They arent all that expensive, but I'm so jewish I want to check if the chinese do them much more cheaply. No rush for the tool. If you try a range of flex you may find one with the right diameter strands. The problem isnt the diameter of the strands, it’s that they are too soft. I've just done them with a needle I bought, because it was too much effort to find the previous needles. Got much too thin a needle and managed to bend that one with one of the jets that is pretty tight and snap the needle with another, The jets are much better aimed than they were, so I will wait till I get the proper tool to do anymore. |

Intended for working on PCBs but the straight one is perfect for pricking eggs before boiling and also for poking into windscreen washer jets that have become clogged with gunge because it has a decent handle, so is easier to use than a semstress pin (the ones with bulbous ends). |

I inherited my Dad's old primus stoves and have a fondness for them. But for things like the OP's query (I can't believe I'm replying to Rod Speed!) I use short lengths of old electric guitar strings. You can glue them into a cork for a handle, or similar. The strings have a bit more flexibility than a needle, which can help. J^n |

I used to know one well enough that he would have given me one if I had asked, but he's dead now, died of the diabetes. Not sure if he did inject insulin tho. I have in the past too, actually a decent sized sewing needle, but the problem with both is that when you keep it in the glove box so you can adjust where the jets are pointing whenever you need to, you basically have to take everything out of the glove box to find it again and mine is usually stuffed with receipts and other stuff like sun screen and the two charger cables, one for the phone and the other for the bluetooth neckband headset. If the chinese do a copy of the one I listed for say $1 or $2 with postage included, I'll get at least one. Likely I'll get one for $15 if I can't find them on aliexpress. |
