The EU would be delighted if the UK chose to not leave the EU. Unfortunately, it already has chosen to. Article 50 is not reversible. Article 50 doesn't say that. And whatever it says, the EU would be very happy if the UK decided that it wasn't going to leave. Did you not read what was written? Doesn't say that it isnt reversible. good grief, it doesn't say that we won't all get EU buns with pink icing saying 'goodbye and good luck ' either. OTOH article 50 does say that once it is invoked leaving *will* take place once an agreement is reached on when, or after two years if no agreement is reached, No it does not in that absolute sense. ergo it specifically states that article 50 is an irrevocable step to leaving. The EU would be very happy if the UK changed its mind on leaving and said so unambiguously and would ignore the use of that word in Article 50. Not that the UK is at all likely to change its mind, even if Boris gets to decide what happens. You think that prick Juncker would seriously consider changing the rules in this particular case and look like the fool that he is? YMBFJ Juncker makes Corbyn look like a statesman (or should it be: Corbyn makes Juncker look like a statesman?) |
