Ordered an external h/d from Tesco on Sunday evening.
£3 delivery charge. To be delivered 3-5 days.
A bloke in a white van delivered it this morning.
Not bad is that.

I tend to get computer stuff from uk outlets on amazon nowadays. I've found reliability to be fine, but am not doing it on a commercial scale. Tesco are very uncompetitive on hdds.

Internals? - for some reason they are more expensive than externals, not
checked elsewhere so I have no idea if that's normal

Externals, best price at Tesco for 1TB 52.00, best other price I could
find - 48.00, both with shipping to be added - but for Tesco I always click
and collect at my local store

Pretty much exactly my experience.

Currys and Tescos were only marginally worse than online, a difference
absorbed by shipping costs.

It looks like they are cost competitive with internals too.

Argos is also worth a look. Currently at £52.99 for 1TB. Delivery (often
same day) for £3.95.
