BBC TV: The Big Life Fix with Simon Reeve
The team of inventors are challenged to come up with solutions for three very different problems.
They attempt to help a terminally ill photographer who can no longer use his hands to operate a camera. They try to bring cutting-edge communication to a remote Welsh village which has no internet access and an unreliable telephone connection. And they work to give some control back to a young designer who has Parkinson's disease and who has been unable to use a pen since developing tremors in her hands two years ago. From a man with locked-in syndrome who wants to communicate with his family, to an 11-year-old boy born without hands and feet who is desperate to ride a bike, the series offers extraordinary insight into the lives of those whose dreams seem to be beyond grasp and who need the help of experts. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b084ztrw Wed 7 Dec 2016 21:00 BBC Two repeated Thu 8 Dec 2016 23:15 BBC Two http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b084zttn Participants (inventors or users) sought for series 2 http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/t...t/big_life_fix Owain |

They attempt to help a terminally ill photographer who can no longer use his hands to operate a camera. They try to bring cutting-edge communication to a remote Welsh village which has no internet access and an unreliable telephone connection. Trivially fixed with satellite access. And they work to give some control back to a young designer who has Parkinson's disease and who has been unable to use a pen since developing tremors in her hands two years ago. Cant see why that is any different to those who can't write. From a man with locked-in syndrome who wants to communicate with his family, to an 11-year-old boy born without hands and feet who is desperate to ride a bike, Makes a lot more sense to do something about the mobility of those who are no longer as mobile as they once were IMO. Corse that wouldnt provide the same level of 'heart warming' the series offers extraordinary insight into the lives of those whose dreams seem to be beyond grasp and who need the help of experts. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b084ztrw Wed 7 Dec 2016 21:00 BBC Two repeated Thu 8 Dec 2016 23:15 BBC Two http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b084zttn Participants (inventors or users) sought for series 2 http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/t...t/big_life_fix |

"Brian Gaff" wrote in message news Hmm, Ability Net has been solving such problems as one offs for some years to my knowledge. but they haven;'t been doing it on the telly, have they? (you could just as easily argue that make over programs are a waste of time because people have been doing diy for ages) tim |
