Default Ghostery

I have been getting messages appearing ina purple table to the right of my screen advising me what cookies are ignoring my right to privacy. Already gunning for flash with NoScript I had failed to sort out the Ghostery problem and as I had recently reset my screen resolution it has become a plague.

It turns out that all I had to do was key into th icon in the toolbar that held the secondary advisory (The number of tracking cookies operating in whichever tab was open.)

Google seems to be the most insistent repeatedly supplying a restricted cookie. But I expect no less from them as they are well protected with the NSA/CIA. I wonder how that is going to work for them after WW4 against the Muslims, with a 5th column already installed among their own brown skinned workforce.

That is going to be interesting.

Sorry about the politics but I think the forum might be glad to learn of the free application for Firefox. Goodluck to all. Badluck to all spies!

What is "the Ghostery problem"? Why have you got "the secondary advisory"?
What is "a restricted cookie"? What is "the free application for Firefox"?
What has all this to do with DIY?

"DIY computer security" - nothing wrong with that. However, if the OP is
using Windows as his O/S then all the bolt-ons in the world are merely
illusory protection.

That's why tinfoil hats are so important. ;-)

There is a little blue icon in the toolbar that also adiv=ses me on the number of cookies that may be restricted. The purple box tells me who owns them as well as how many there are.

I suggest you try it.

What is "a restricted cookie"? What is "the free application for Firefox"?

Any cookie that is not necessary for the operation of the website is usually not worth the bother of having, although removing it may cause issues. Personally although probelmatic, having a disfunctional website isn't my problem. These days there is a massive choice of places to go and other things to see online. I would rather restrict that website's access until they learn not to put warez onto my computers.

What has all this to do with DIY?

Grow up, dope!

Thank you for the link explaining what Ghostery is. The OP assumes everybody
knows what his subject title means.
