From: "The Natural Philosopher" What we have learnt in the last few weeks That you've got the political nous of a six year old ? Quite obviously, the proportion of your adult life you've spent either under sedation, or in conditions of complete isolation, is far greater than even your harshest critics on this group could have imagined. michael adams .... |

I've noticed a percentage of people start suggesting mental illness when their child-like notions of the world are challenged by hard realities. NT |

To be perfectly frank with you, there's no bigger "child-like notion", than for a person to believe they can seek to impose their own values on complete strangers on UseNet; let alone that anybody would take a blind bit of notice of them. They'd simply be told, by the less polite posters at least, to "stick their advice where the sun doesn't shine". That's the "hard reality" in this instance, I'm afraid. What you need to appreciate is that there may be impressionable newcomers to this Group, as perhaps you were at one stage yourself, or maybe still are, impressionable that is, who when they read someone styling himself "The Natural Philosopher" post the following manifesto quote "The only statement that rings true, is that our current political classes and institutions, are completely unfit for purpose. We've kicked one load of donkeys in the nuts. WE now have to find someone in the UK who actually knows how to do the hard work involved in actually governing a country, rather than just winning elections and playing the PR game." /quote may be led to believe that he's actually serious, and may be persuaded to start revolting themselves. They may even seek to adopt him as their Leader. He may even be attempting to grow a moustache, as we speak. When in the UK right now we've got more than enough revolting people as it is; as the fiasco of two weeks ago, proves. michael adams .... |

Or Margaret Thatcher? Because we want stupid, selfish, senseless, greedy people to spend there last years contemplating eveything they accomplished with deep regret. |

I somewhat agree, though people do take notice when the arguments look good. And let's get real, no-one is imposing here, they're merely stating. They'd simply be told, by the less polite posters at least, to "stick their advice where the sun doesn't shine". That's the "hard reality" in this instance, I'm afraid. What you need to appreciate is that there may be impressionable newcomers to this Group, as perhaps of course. At least here some of the leftybull gets challenged. you were at one stage yourself, or maybe still are, impressionable that is, who when they read someone styling himself "The Natural Philosopher" post the following manifesto quote "The only statement that rings true, is that our current political classes and institutions, are completely unfit for purpose. When in the UK right now we've got more than enough revolting people as it is; as the fiasco of two weeks ago, proves. all that section proves is you disagree with TNP and are willing to be silly. So what. As you pretty much said yourself. TNP is as imperfect as anyone, but at least has some idea about how politics works. Why don't you try posting something similarly useful. NT |
