It does indicate a degree of confidence in the product that other manufacturers don't have in theirs. No it doesn't. The rate of returns is low, even lower for better tools. Paying for extended warranties is just not a good deal. NT |

'Home Improvement Special Buys'. Any opinions on the 'Universal Wood Care Oil'? https://www.aldi.co.uk/universal-woo...93247028327703 I have the dregs of some Liberon Finishing Oil which originally came from TS but they don't sell it any more. It's done rather well, so looking for something similar to replace. The Aldi stuff is very non-descriptive, but comes in several shades which suggests it's more of a stain than an oil? Plus it comes in a tin not a can which suggests it's intended for brush rather than cloth application. Theo |

The instructions were to apply with a brush but talk about absorption, so I suppose it's more varnish-like. Theo |

'Home Improvement Special Buys'. We don't have a local Aldi but I just bought the Lidl (Parkside) 125mm angle grinder for £19.99, plus two packs of disks for £7. First impressions are that it's rather good, much nicer than their ancient "Power Devil" it's replacing. My Parkside random orbit sander has had a lot of use and hasn't let me down so far. -- Reentrant |

IMHO, Lidl power tools are head and shoulders above other budget makes at the same sort of price. I expect the same applies to Aldi. -- *I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |
